As you can see by these photos, this is an absolutely gorgeous shakuhachi made by the Japanese maker Ichijo. This shakuhachi is in pristine condition with no cracks or dings whatsoever. The joint is snug, however it could use just a tad of laquer or teflon tape to tighten it just a bit.

The pitch is precise through all octaves. Nice dense piece of bamboo, but not too heavy. And as you can see, a really exquisite root end!

There are 3 signatures on this flute. Two of them are from the original maker Ichijo and one is from Monty Levenson. Monty made a very slight adjustment to the flute to increase the resonance, stability and power of the Otsu Ro.

Although this is a jiari shakuhachi, it plays with a very natural sound. An excellent shakuhachi for sankyoku or for honkyoku practice.

This Ichijo 2.0 shakuhachi comes with the wool vapor lock carrying bag, a plastic bag, and with the beautiful silk utaguchi cover as shown in the last photo (however the cover you will receive is blue rather green).
